Present

I keep hearing, " Don't delve on the past; don't think about the future too much; Live in the present" , very often. But what is "present" ?

Technically speaking , "present " for a person is not the same for another. Let us see how this works. Assuming two persons are speaking to each other; A to B.. One can say that both of them are conversing in the "present". However, when A speaks to B, there is a time lag between A's speech and B's hearing (Sound takes time to travel between two points). In this case, the time difference is very very negligible, maybe in nano seconds ; but still there exists a time difference between these two actions. Hence, A's "present" is not the same for B.

Similarly, when we see the sun at any moment, we see the state of the sun eight seconds before (it takes 8 seconds for the suns rays to reach the earth). When we see a person , we see him as he was a few nano seconds back , as it takes time for the light to bounce from him to reach our eyes..

So, is " present" relative ?

Yes, time is relative to each individual person. However in order to have some semblance, there is a common time (GMT) ; guess we can touch base with that !!!!!

Moonlight Trek !!!

As it had been a long time since I had been to Bangalore, I had decided to go to Bangalore for a weekend. This time I had decided we will go to a place out of Bangalore for a change. One of my colleague had sent some snaps of a place near chikbalalpur . I called up Maruti and shared the snaps with him and asked him to check out the place .
The initial idea was to go for a trek with few of my friends and then have a mega get together with all of our friends for lunch in Bangalore. But as days rolled by , the number of guys who had put up their hands for the trip increased. So when i landed in Bangalore on 6th of October, the final count came to 45 guys.
As soon as I landed there, i lazed in my friend's apartment and went to my uncle's house . After I came back i went for a thai massage in Bodykraft . It was by far the best massage I had in my life and to top it, it was done by two chicks !!! Life's good :-)))
Post that I snoozed for some time and after dinner, we all assembled next in Indiranagar for the bus to come and pick us up. Maruti had booked a KSRTC booked for this trip (seating capacity of 55) and it stopped in Koramangla , Innerring road to pick guys on the way. There were also 3 of Sumith's friends who had joined us. RP had come from Hyderabad especially for this and so too did Shasank !! We all boarded the bus and at 11.30ish left Bangalore.
We had a whale of a time on the way with Roopak, Shashank, RP, Clum, Venkat, Gass, Maruti, Cheeky and urs humbly providing the fun quotient, vide singing songs, mimicking events from our hostel life etc.... This was easily the best part of our trip ...
In the meanwhile we had lost our way in the darkness which made our driver upset. We had to cajole him and after what it seemed an eternity we found the place.
We were greeted by the guide and we distributed the noodles, water bottles, firewood and bananas to all the people. After taking a snak and invoking God we hit the trail lat 2.30 a.m.
At the outset Pasu slipped and hurt his ankle. But he showed tremendous courage in recouping and finishing the full trial without any outward signs of discomfort. It was followed by Gana falling face fist into a pit ( I thought he was gone !!), but thank god , nothing happened to him !! As it was dark , we were helped by the torch lights and we snaked thru the trail. Many a times we slipped , tripped and lost others but we managed to reach the top by 05.45 a.m.
What greeted us cannot be put down into words !!! It was freezing, cold, windy at the same time breath taking !!! Nandi hills covered with clouds gave a nice pic !! We spent 2 hours there and post that we boiled water and had cup noodles.
Post that we started our way down at 8.15 a.m. and by 10.45 a.m. we started the bus back to Bangalore. We reached around 1.30 ish and had good home made food by Sumith and crashed !!!!
On the whole it turned out to be a memorable trip for all of us . One thins was sure - no one will come again for a trek !!!!! But the concept of getting together nearly 50 guys was a hit !! Hope to see many more of these !!!

Thalaiva Vazhga - What a Sunday !!!

For all the hype & hoopla that surrounds the movie"Shivaji" , it did not affect my life in any way till now. But today morning I realised what pull Rajni had over our mundane lives. Consider the following :

Today was not a typical sunday for many people in our family.

Firstly,I had to get up at 8.30 a.m.(i knw !!! it is a heinous crime, i have to atone this sooner or later..).secondly, i had to take bath by 9.00a.m.Then to top it i had my food by 9.30 a.m.

Coming to my bro , he had to get up earlier than me and had his bath before me . And for a change he did not do his usual round around our home with the broom/duster cloth before his bath !!!! (which , trust me, is earth shattering for me). As if this is not enough , he finished his food within a record breaking 10 mins flat ..

My parents instead of getting ready for going to temple (sunday usually) , they were getting ready to go out ..

Kasturi Periyappa & periyamma , instead of relaxing a sunday in home , had decided to join us for the movie. I am sure none of us i my generation knws when Kasturi periyappa saw a movie in a theater last time .

Geetha Athai & Athimber had also decided to bless Sathyam theatre with their presence. I am very sure even Geetha Athai will not even remember when was the last time , she had gone to a theatre !!!

The 10 o clock sun saw us and Kastui periyappa & periyamma board the Quallis and leaving for Sathy am theatre. It has to be noted here that my brother after doing severe penance was atlast able to secure tickets in the balcony , which he was hell bent upon , as he wanted to showcase us the new look theater .. But that act of his , left my mother fuming , as today happens t o be amavasai;due to which my mom could not have her customary popcorn and icecream in the theatre.

On our way , as were chatting , the topic veered towards the big banner movies that were released recently. When I was extolling the technical accomplishments that the movie Harry Potter had, curt came the remark fro my mom ," Well , well , I have seen all that . Can it be better than our own JAGATHALAPPRATHAPAN movie? " . That comparison left me gasping for words(that too , she has not even seen any of the potter movie). She was further complemented by periyappa ," Yes , of course. Can it be better than the movies (telugu) made by Vittalachari? " Now that got me bowled. I am no fan of harry potter movies, but I felt thankful for a second that the director of these movies were not around to hear this !!

We reached the theater and were joined by Geetha Athai & Athimber and we got seated for the movie. I am not going to add my comments on the movie here (After all, i need my bro to do many tasks for me !!) After an entertaining first half, the interval came and all of us went out for the food counter, but as it was Amavasai we did not have anything.But Geetha Athaihad different plans. As soon as we came back and sat , out came the hot & yummy chappati rolls, which she had made so lovingly for all of us. They were passed around in tissue papers and they were damn yummy !!(It was perfectly spicy for me - i ended up having three
of them).I could sense the expression on the lady sitting next to me as to where the hell i got this
from !!. To round it off , athai conjured up a flask with steamy dikashon coffee and passed it around the paper cups which she had brought along. I swear, this can happen only in chennai !!!!
Soon the movie got over and as we dropped athai & athimber in her home , I cold not help wondering what a nice time we had .

My First Blog !!!!

I had no inkling that i would also fall prey to this fad (time will judge this !!) of blogging. but yes, here i am posting my first blog . knowing me, i knw that i fizzle out after my initial entusiasm , but i hope that this proves as an exception to this.
Well , lemme see whether i surprise myself by blogging regularly or atleast once ina while :-))))
